WASHINGTON — Moderna announced Thursday it is seeking approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for emergency use of its COVID-19 vaccine in children younger than 6.>> Read more trending news In a news release Thursday morning, the biotechnology company said its submission to U.S. regulators for the age group, which ranges from 6 months old to under 6 years old, 'will be complete next week.' The request is based on two 25-microgram doses of the vaccine, dubbed mRNA-1273, compared with two 100-microgram primary doses and a 50-microgram booster for adults, the release said.

The patients arrived at the largest emergency hospital in Lviv by the dozens, transported hundreds of miles via ambulance and other vehicles from the eastern region of war-torn Ukraine. Seventy casualties arrived on one day, 30 on another, nearly 100 on yet another occasion.

New trial date set for former Idaho Falls teacher accused of assaulting student

IDAHO FALLS – The trial for a former Idaho Falls teacher accused of assaulting a student more than a year ago has been rescheduled. Former Eagle Rock Middle School teacher Jared Emfield, 46, is facing several misdemeanor charges for allegedly slamming a student against a wall and threatening him while pinning him to the ground. He was originally charged with one count of misdemeanor battery and pleaded not guilty last April. Additional misdemeanor charges were filed against Emfield in January, including one more count of battery, two counts of assault, a charge of false imprisonment and disturbing the peace.
